Consumerism, Postive Term that turned Negative

The Consumerism, is merely not a term today, its an era. Gradually this term having Benedict meaning, transformed to a negative expression. The transformation is as interesting as its transliteration and use in vocab. So let me first name its former meaning.

 Before 21st Century (year 2000) the term was used for informed buyers or consumers who made their purchasing decisions wisely after considering all the parameters/requirements. For sellers it meant, making their customers informed about the quality, quantity, packaging, pricing, etc, hence empowering efficient decision making.

So originally it is a virtuous term, symbolizing the buyers/consumers, and at the same time enforcing sellers/companies to play fair to have a long term advantage. And now the transformed meaning of the term, which states:

Consumerism is a social and economic order that encourages the purchase of goods and services in ever-greater amounts. Consumerism is the selfish and frivolous collecting of products, or economic materialism. Consumerism is a force from the marketplace which destroys individuality and harms society.

With its new definition it essentially refers to thoughtless and impractical buying or spending habit. In India, since year 2000, there has been a tremendous rise in the standards of The Great Indian Middle Class. There is a rise in the spending power of the people. And above all, there had been a competitive society to prove their supremacy by showcasing a new product each day. The competition had led to ever increased consumerism without pondering over a second before making the buying decision.

On the other hand the companies/sellers have exploited the situation by excessive marketing of thoughtless and useless products. They exploited the foolishness of the naive people. The situation kept engraving and as the saying goes you practice what you preach, the new generation is the byproduct of the ill effects of consumerism.

For the coming generation, a day spent without money is like a punishment of highest order. The children in metropolitan cities spend away a hefty amount of their pocket money on expensive restaurants, coffee bars, on tips, on new gadgets and so on. They can live without food, but not without their gadgets, casual lifestyle. They like to travel, stay in expensive hotels, motels, but are hesitant to spend a night over a relative's place.  Similarly when a relative visits them, they find their home small to accommodate the guest. 

They do not like anyone not even their parents indulging in their life. Parents feel its their moral duty to support their child financially, to help him survive in this era of consumerism. They do not want to let go their position in the race to consumerism because of their children. The consumerism has stolen away all the thoughtfulness of people, not just as a consumer, but as a person.

Indeed Consumerism is not just a term today. Its an Era. If you are young in your 20s or 30s then welcome to the era of Consumerism!!

An 87 Year Old College Student Named Rose
The first day of school our professor introduced himself and challenged us to get to know someone we didn’t already know.
I stood up to look around when a gentle hand touched my shoulder. I turned round to find a wrinkled, little old lady beaming up at me
with a smile that lit up her entire being.
She said, “Hi handsome. My name is Rose. I’m eighty-seven years old. Can I give you a hug?”
I laughed and enthusiastically responded, “Of course you may!” and she gave me a giant squeeze.
“Why are you in college at such a young, innocent age?” I asked.
She jokingly replied, “I’m here to meet a rich husband, get married, and have a couple of kids…”
“No seriously,” I asked. I was curious what may have motivated her to be taking on this challenge at her age.
“I always dreamed of having a college education and now I’m getting one!” she told me.
After class we walked to the student union building and shared a chocolate milkshake. We became instant friends. Every day for the
next three months, we would leave class together and talk nonstop. I was always mesmerized listening to this “time machine”
as she shared her wisdom and experience with me.
Over the course of the year, Rose became a campus icon and she easily made friends wherever she went. She loved to dress up and she reveled in the attention bestowed upon her from the other students. She was living it up.
At the end of the semester we invited Rose to speak at our football banquet. I’ll never forget what she taught us. She was
introduced and stepped up to the podium.
As she began to deliver her prepared speech, she dropped her three by five cards on the floor. Frustrated and a little embarrassed she leaned into the microphone and simply said, “I’m sorry I’m so jittery. I gave up beer for Lent and this whiskey is killing me! I’ll never get my speech back in order so let me just tell
you what I know.”
As we laughed she cleared her throat and began, “We do not stop playing because we are old; we grow old because we stop
playing. There are only four secrets to staying young, being happy, and achieving success. You have to laugh and find humor every day.
You’ve got to have a dream. When you lose your dreams, you die.
We have so many people walking around who are dead and don’t even know it!There is a huge difference between growing
older and growing up.
If you are nineteen years old and lie in bed for one full year and don’t do one productive thing, you will turn twenty years old.
If I am eighty-seven years old and stay in bed for a year and never do anything I will turn eighty-eight.
Anybody can grow older. That doesn’t take any talent or ability. The idea is to grow up by always finding opportunity in change.
Have no regrets.
The elderly usually don’t have regrets for what we did, but rather for things we did not do. The only people who fear death are those
with regrets.”
She concluded her speech by courageously singing “The Rose.”
She challenged each of us to study the lyrics and live them out in our daily lives.
At the year’s end Rose finished the college degree she had begun all those years ago. One week after graduation Rose died
peacefully in her sleep.
Over two thousand college students attended her funeral in tribute to the wonderful woman who taught by example that it’s
never too late to be all you can possibly be .When you finish reading this, please send this peaceful word of advice to your friends and family, they’ll really enjoy it!
These words have been passed along in loving memory of ROSE.

Lately My Life..!

My life has changed. From PC to Mobile, from Bike to Car, from Consumer to Seller, from Student to Teacher, probably from an Experimenter to Mentor.. Although the process evolved gradually, it always seems it happened too fast to reconcile.
It has always been yesterday, since I came back from Pune, and yesterday since I started my own business and teaching. I often wonder what exactly is the objective of so quickly moving life of mine. I wonder what is that thing I have in life to cherish about, and the thing in life to regret.

Definition of Life in Present tense has always been 'Complex' and in Past tense has always been 'Simple'.
The only rule that applies is 'nothing is Constant'. And the funny thing it even applies to the desire and aims. The cognitive meaning and objective of life has 'Constantly Changed'. The obvious choice becomes childish. And childish resolutions have become night mares.

Is this the way its for everyone? Or I am being too much pensive?

Gone are the days when the size of Time was huge and size of pockets small. Today the size of Time is small and the size of pockets Huge, never filling. More is less, and less is inconsiderate. "Friends are Few" and the word "Indeed" is lost somewhere.

If this is how it is supposed to be, then I really wish for Sunshine and Rain, and pray to God, to let me grow up Once Again..!!

PUC..!! (Pollution Un-Controlled)

What funny world we live into. We only see what others wants us to see. We only hear what we are told about. We sympathise but are not ready to empathise. We stand firm pointing all our fingers on the safer side of the table, but when the table rotates we hide right beneath it.  We notice the aberration, but still we un-see it till we are shown.  And once seen, we create huge noise unless someone turns the table onto us!! And then we finally tend to forget.

But how far can all this be tolerated!! Nature needs the due justice! Enough of blame game had happened. Its time to retrospect. Lets not simply pity the showcased senarious but as well realize it being around us.  Let us not say 'chalta hai' anymore.

The cliche here is, as an individual how much can we really do to save our basic right of breathing fresh. The government and the officials are blind at the facet of precious. I wish to draw the attention to the various breach of humanity occurring in my vicinity that really disappoints.

1. Industrialization is good, and the need of hour for our country. Still can we afford it at the cost of lives of fellow citizens. Industries burn huge dump of prohibited articles and fire theur chimneys. The poor people /labors dwelling n working around such industries constantly endanger their lives. And Capitalist and Government fill their pockets from the extra money offered by the offenders as bribe.

2. Private vehicles are for comfortable transportation. But today its not amenity but a luxury. We tend to smoke up so much of essential form of energy, while travelling for work and leisure. In all the affluent families each member has owns his/her bike/car. I have heard and also believe on the idiom "Time is Money" but in the given scenario when we see the Oil price on soaring side only, Money and energy can also be saved by waiting and accommodating others(Friends, Family, Colleagues, Neighbors) to travel together, and save on the fuel and unnecessary pollution. On weekends and holidays most of us tend to go for aimless rides and drives. One should really ponder before embarking on such foolish activity. I am sure there are other means and better means of entertainment.

3. Burning for rituals/ for waste overs/ or rubbers, is another grave area where we have to blame ourselves for thoughtful negligence. Burning of woods, cowdungs, coals, for havans, holi, etc. is a common practice in our country. For collective festivals like Holi, we want to burn our own personal edifice of Lord. Which ultimately boils down to 5 - 10 such burning processions taking place in a vicinity of 5 Kms. I do not get the point of burning so many piles of wood at such near to each other place. When the festivals are occasions to come together we are not just destroying the objective but also creating unnecessary wastage and pollution.  How can we be so insane.
As far as the burning of wastes is concerned, we do not waste for Municipal Corporation to handle the waste we want to manage that ourselves. How foolish can it be to burn the waste to make it light and travel in air. Wow! What a way to get rid of it. But, hey are we actually? Imagine a situation where every household of the city starts doing the same. It would be such a polluted environment, the smoke of burning, the ashes travelling with air all throughout. Even its imagination generates nausea.

To not to make it big, I just want to conclude saying, "Lets act Humans". Lets think about the bigger picture before acting personal. Its time we THINK. Think the longer effect of our not-thoughtful acts.

Censorship Now it is Internet

   Blocking sites for secular and political reasons is nothing new and not something unheard of.  We have been getting such news from Middle East countries since long back.  Even Dubai and UAE had once blocked social communities like Orkut and Facebook.  But to hear something of that sort from West the real originator of the network is something surprising.

   With the latest discussion of COICA (Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act) to be studied seriously it seems if the act gets approval the internet would become antiquated. COICA would challenge the websites indulged in any sort of infringing activity, viz. copyright infringement, cracked copy of softwares, free distribution of licensed materials, objectionable materials, etc.  The authorities primarily would list such websites in blacklists and would ask the global communities like google, paypal, etc to block the domain from first list.  However with COICA, they even reserve the rights to clean of the net with such sites.

So what happens with our YouTube?

   YouTube being widely used website to share free contents as present has many and uncountable objectionable contents adhering to fall in the bait of COICA.  So to prevent such giants from the threat there might be an underline to the act that, the objectionable content should be removed on notice or complain within stipulated time limit. 

So the Big Question

The big question is, in this ever fastening world of internet where infinite chunks of data transfer occurs every nanosecond, does the law with such amendment would yield the desired result.  The books which has been banned or video which has been rated “Remove”, or the software which is “Copyrighted” all would have resulted into thousands to millions to trillions copies. The irony to the matter that restricted things occurs faster and in myriads.

Effects on Indian Pirated Market

If this act is taken very seriously it might affect India’s piracy market and might ease the tensions of the government and ever worrying bollywood industry.  It might translate into restricted resources for software/movies/games download for young budding Engineers and gamers of India.  At the same time the vice versa effect can be the increased use of Compact Discs (CDs) and Digital Discs (DVDs) to share the copyrighted material.  The price of pirated CDs might increase and new softwares, movies, games from west could take some time to reach India (esp. Indian Piracy Market).

 My Opinion

   However if you ask me, personally I oppose this act, not for pirated softwares or movies, but for the common good of the word Internet which is derived from International Network.  Let information flow without restriction.  If the knowledge is controlled by few then there are possibilities that we might perceive what they want us to know and not what we should know! For me its about my right to decide what should I read, see, use.  If they think a book should be banned and not published then why not let me decide that!!

the lost Laughter..!!

Haha... hahahaa.... laugh out loud..!!

Its seems to be a long time when I last laughed out loud from the bottom of my heart. I realize how difficult it is to grow in the serious and tensed environment as an adult and matured person. One gets so busy in life that time doesn't even spare him to share few moments of heartful laugh with loved ones. The time left after daily work pressures is spent thinking and worrying about the new day coming with new challenges. In midst of all those tensions its implied that the fast pace life takes away our fun from life. All you get to compromise with is small smiles when you read those Santa Singh jokes on your cell.

Now I know why do we have laughter clubs operating at parks and gardens in early mornings. But to me it indicates the hopeless condition of life where to laugh out loud one has to attend laughing clubs cause in the entire day one is not optimistic about a single moment where he would get the chance to laugh away his heart.

And this laughter thing is very important. I realized it today when the small irritating pain in my upper chest (near elbow) got relieved as I shared this laughter session with some close friends. And now I think even the pain was because of the fact that I lost my laughter in daily life long back when I jumped into the league of being businessmen. I got practical experience of laughter solving maximum of body ailments.

I think, we should arrange our work and personal life in such a manner that we always get chance to discover our laugh spontaneously with friends and family in lieu of laughter club members. Some-time should be spared for personal bondings with the people whom we laugh and share most of our sorrows. The heart is relieved and rejuvenated. After all life is not all about being tensed its about living...!!

so dear friends.. Call me today for a hang out...!! And I ll ensure a hearful laughter for you and for me..!!

Perception a Problem?

The topic refers to the tension, dissever and nervousness the human mind goes through after reaching the dividing roads of life. The perception plays an important role here. Cause the most important criteria of judgement is played by perception in such a situation. But perception is after all perception, it is believed to be right but cannot be ensured. And hence the tension, dissever and nervousness. Its a circle in itself. The more you know, the more you perceive and yet far more your perception changes (in same or other direction).

I often wonder is it only me for whom the perception has such a wide play ground to lurk around? As for me, the perception about few major things have altered drastically. The latest happenings in my life has helped me to evaluate the perpetually altering perception as the basic criteria for selecting the road's crossway.

To let you know about my present state of mind, I am at a junction and need to select a way as means of my livelihood, between Business, Job and Further Education. I am a graduate now, have 1 year full time work experience and belong to a business family. I am lucky to have all the three options healthily available to me. But the divide here is the choice of selection.

Its already been long that I have tried to perceive about the pros and cons of all the three streams. Yet the dilema of confusion persist. More number of people I meet more of personal advice I get, and I am sure you have your own too to pass on to me, but hold on till this one gets over.

I, in order to make the most aware decision, met well settled and highly acclaimed people of my family's social circle of all the fields. And the irony being I found hardly anyone acclaiming his own profession to be superior than the other. An highly earning employed person thinks there's nothing better than own independence and work, while an highly earning businessman suggests the business has evolved a lot and its not as easy in today's competitive world as a professional life. But however slyly the latter accepts that in some aspects its always good to be entrepreneur. But still everyone has his own logic to adjunct the debated topic.

Since childhood I had strong inclination towards job and profession. I remember, in my early school - 1st to 3rd grade, I did not like to say that my father is neither a doctor nor an engineer but a business man. Even till the time I been for graduation, I was so lured with high executive job profiles that I wanted to do my PG from one of the best institution. However, during my grads I got under influence of some learned men from industry, learnt about their experiences - History - the Great Men of Worlds. This affected my school of thoughts and gave me the deviated insight. And finally the entire perception changed. Today looking back I am surprised that its the same me, who looked down upon the business once is all ready to embrace it. Even my work experience of small tenure helped me to build my perception.

Such a major change in perception is still a mystery for me. But however I feel today I am more aware, and has developed the basic anvil of reasoning to make my judgement based on perception. Still whatever the decision that I take, will be based entirely on perception. And more I know, more I perceive. And as here its entirely the new road the only experience at hand is the past record of the role the perception has played in such dilemma-tic situations.

Consequently as without any experience, the entire decision maker is perception the tension, dissever and nervousness continues. It ends only once an unalterable direction is chosen.

Ye Delhi hai mere Yaar..

Been to Delhi last week for a short trip!! Loitered on many streets in and around Delhi..!!

Its an endless city, which seems to have no boundary limits. I wonder how do people commute in such a big city, especially earlier when the metros didn't exist. Still lots of places yet out of reach from Metro, and multitude are traveling from one part of city to another using government and private buses. One can travel one end to another for 4 hours and yet not be able to cross Delhi limits (in vertical or horizontal direction). Well 4 hours might seem to be some big time, however when you consider Delhi traffic which is growing at constant rate, inspite of Metros, it seems to be very feasible.

Metros is no doubt an excellent example of public transport services that any government can boost of. A well built metro with stations built in major crowded places like Chandani Chowk, Kashmiri Gate, etc is worth seeing.

Chandani Chowk, now the famous Delhi 6, is one of the most busy street of Delhi. The main road has got splendid shops and constructions which coverts the old city of Delhi. But if you enter any of the galis, viz. Parathe vali Gali, Maliwara, Nayi Sarak, etc, you get to see the real Delhi 6. Here one feels he is roaming in the main market of any UP/Bihar city. All small lanes, with no space for a car to enter, for the matter of fact even bikes are not permitted inside those lanes. The shop keepers here are running their ancestral businesses. Roadside small shops, like a cubicle where the shopkeeper is sitting at the entry of the shop waiting for customers. One might think that these shopkeepers are just trying to sustain themselves. But actually their business model gives them profit better than those of malls, shopping complex and well to do shops of Delhi. You enter these shops and you are treated with some tea, cold drink and if you are lucky than even with Chat Items like Dahi Balle, Sev Puri-Dahi Puri, etc. These area also caters to some chatpata delicacies of Delhi. You will also notice lack of civic sense among shop owners. Most of them do not keep a dustbin and all their litters are found loitering in front of their shops on the street. And this makes you wonder more if you are really in some tier 2 Indian city.

Well litter is a major problem of most metros and Delhi is no exception. But however to imagine a dumped stinking area near the Famous Red Fort was a blow to my expectations. Down straight the Chandani Chowk I found Red Fort. I walked down the street for about a kilometer to find that it remains closed on mondays (the day being monday). However after a look at its facet I felt being at one of the tourist place of India. The horizontol crossing street was one of the major street of Delhi and beared heavy traffic. So I decided to take the Red Fort subway to cross the road. I was shocked to see the pathos condition of the subway filled with litter and poor dwellings. It was unbelivable to see the area of so importance being so filthy. Even the other end of the subway-outside on streets, did not give a happy feeling. I felt as if all the litter of entire Chandani Chowk Area is dumped so near to the Red Fort.

Now coming to the fastest developing part of Delhi, viz area of South Delhi. With 90 Kms around Delhi being declared as NCR, cities like Noida(UP) and Gurgaon(Haryana) has bloomed extensively. Noida is now a city of Shopping Malls and Educational institutions, while Gurgaon, the most benefited one from NCR status, houses most of the Indian and Multinational Corporate Offices. The entry of Gurgaon from Delhi Expressway is such a splendour visit, esp at night, that one feels of traveling in one of the best city of world, viz. New York, London, etc. All fancy illuminated buildings and lanscapes and the state of the art infrastructure. I think now Haryana Government should declare Gurgaon as the state capital (at present day Chandigardh shares the common status of state capital for Haryana and Punjab.)

NCR has been developed with the view point of providing the modern amenities to people residing outskirts of Delhi so that they need not travel to the capital and hence the herding problem during business hour can be controlled. But today with such a fast, efficient and continous development of these(NCR) areas, it seems soon Delhities would be moving to the NCR for their day to day work.

Well to conclude I would say Ye Delhi hai mere Yaar.. Bas isqh mahobat pyaar.. Dilli dilwalo ki!!

Its a new beginning..!!

Its a new beginning..!! Indeed it is..

Its a year down from my last post. And since then lot of things had changed. Year, government, economy, attitude, thinking and the most important one my life!! Everything changed drastically since last year. There has been a new facet for all of them.

Its a year of change. And very optimistically I call this change a Good One..!! Its time to leave the past and hold the hands of future with a rejuvenated energy.

Virtual Identity

Hello Everyone, I think this should be a gr8 one!! It includes some research on my part and is one of my best shot!

Virtual Identity or Internet Identity has become a new kid on the block. Its nothing new but is probably the forgotten challenge of Internet that few of our matured and elderly person could predict. But at that time, they were chided at as outdated or superstitious people. Unfortunately, the fear has come true. And it has stuck at the time, when even that generation has joined the bandwagon called fast world of Internet. Today the only person left who doubts the efficiency or ill effects of internet are the newbies or left out ones. And in almost 9 out of 10 cases these sceptical people once become net freak tends to forget their fears.

Confused? You should be, cause if you are reading this then there are high chances that you too are a net freak and will not easily accept there are any flaw with internet. Well yes there isn't any flaw with the internet as such, but one new bit worrying concept of Virtual Identity has built up very fast. Well not binding, I would rather put it that this Virtual Identity has either or both of the aspects viz good or bad. It entirely depends on your comfortability level. However to me it has more of negative qualities then positive.

Virtual Identity: What does it mean?
Well by now you must have guessed it what exactly this word means, but anyways, here is a short definition coined by me, just for the sake of making the term clear.

Virtual Identity, is the form of Identity of person existing on internet. The basic part of it is composed of the name (can be a pen name too), while it can have other major details as the photos of friends and family, permanent residence or work address, email address, chat Id's, Likes and Dislikes, etc details revealing more and more about a person's characteristics.

Well Have you ever tried keying in your name in Google?

Try it, and if you are in Facebook, then probably the first search result is your profile. If your name is common enought then there are chances of it slipping somewhat down. If not Facebook, try it in Orkut, to get precise search, after your name enter your city's name, and in 90% case you ll get your profile, or the profile you are looking for. One more such site is Linked In, for which google has high priority result. But then Linked In is a proffessional networking rather than social networking, so lets spare Linked In here.

My Experiences with Virtual Identity:
Before pursuing further, I would like to share, from where this idea stuck me? Once while talking on the phone, a friend informed me about a guy who had called her out of the blue and has been harrassing for phone friendship. She gave me some details about the guy, that he has provided to flatter her. Now me belonging to Web Research Background was quite sure about the guy's Virtual Identity, so all I did was some basic search on few well known social networking site and with 99% surity I had not just the pic of this dude, but even his cell phone number. He had been calling from landline number to her and so there was a possibility that he used to call her from Local PCO. But then it was a break through with my researching skills as now it was not the dude who will reach us, but its we who will reach him. We surprised him by our "Hello" call on his cell phone and since then he has been in frenzy and has yet not dared to call back.

Since then, I have traced lot of information about quite a few girls, cell phone numbers in some cases, and have managed to whack some pics too. To boost about it, I have stolen the pics even from locked photo albums or from the albums visible only to friends (including Facebook profiles!!)

Boon or Bane?
This tool is so effective that one can know not just the external details about a person, but if minutely researched and refined the personality details as likes and dislikes, the attitude, key to drive one, etc can also be precisely known.

Have you ever thought that all the details you provide on net, be it any site, is being recorded somewhere, though not at same place, in this vast space called net. And to crack those details all one need is smart analytical mind. Till now most of us have pondered over the security of data which involves monetary worth, viz. Credit Card, net banking details, etc. because we have been reading about it in papers and have come accross various scams too. But now its not just limited to banks; the entire meaning of personal data has been revamped by social networking sites. You wish to share your information to get your old and lost pals but you forget the risk of getting your enemies, foes, and imposters along. Or you rather overlook them for the cost of opportunity lost by not putting up your details.

With this ever increasing ballyhoo being created by the social networking site, I think soon we would get to read in papers about the more personal data being theft. Well I dont think I need to eloborate on the fact that a personal picture when stolen can be used in any and every way.

So now you have to decide, whether this world of virtual identity is a boon or a bane for you?

Last but not the least I would suggest, even if you are very much comfortable with sharing your details, do analyse the long term impact that any information provided can get you into.

When Right goes Wrong!!

Russia (USSR) and America, two former super powers confused the rest of the newly independent world as to which approach for an economic planning is best for the country. Russia being Socialist, in its early years dominated and proved to be more fierce full in overall development than the latter's Capitalist Economy. In the era of cold war, Russia definitely won over USA by means of strong internal (government) support to the budding innovations and discoveries. Many countries consequently fell into line and accepted the Socialist economy, though with some necessary alterations. India being one of them.

Well the simple ideological difference between Socialist and Capitalist theory is while Socialist emphasises on distribution of wealth in the society, Capitalist emphasises on creation of wealth. The latter being more logical in the sense that in former the wealth is just distributed and without emphasis on creation, and hence there is a possibility of depletion of wealth to be distributed, while the latter though just creates wealth, but by the chain process in creating wealth it automates the function of distribution of wealth, and hence it has dual aspect which includes the aspect of Socialist ideology too. Later years that followed, the Russian economists could see the end approaching as the superpower had gradually given in to diminution of wealth and economy in nation. An ideology change was required and hence forth from 1991 Russia changed its face and took a step forward to follow the booming Americans' Capitalist Economy. In the same year India too came out of the iniquity politics of Socialist Economy and turned towards Capital Economy. India, Russia, and etc countries that realized the importance of "Generation of wealth" did show a drastic recovery. The pace being so strong that they were being called as the future superpowers of world.

But today like 1991, once again the world stands on the bend where the same question but in counter way is being asked, "Is Capitalist Ideology better than Socialist?" And the question coming right from American Economy, where the creation of excessive wealth has left behind a trail of excessive liability. Liability worth Trillions of Dollar. And for which American government is looking for a socialist approach.

If you wondering how come I am blaming America of becoming socialist in its approach, then the answer is bit simple, the American government has passed the bailout package for Industries and Markets which means the government would provide them with tax payers money. And when tax payers money is in question no government can allow the companies to function independently and manipulate that money freely. It will definitely bring in interventions and accountability of government in the normal functioning of the industries. While the sole motive of any government is the welfare of its dear citizen, hence gradually the main objective of these companies too will shift from maximization of wealth to distribution of wealth and welfare to the society.

An indeed a paradoxical situation, Russia turned to Capitalist Ideology while now America has laid a foundation stone for Socialist Economy. Given such scenarios the major sufferer are the developing economies like India, which fails to brace while swinging between these ideologies. It has to empower various stratagems especially those related to Liberalization and Globalization, to maintain its due growth along with stability in economy.


And at last the hot debate over Capitalist and Socialist continues!!

And the Award goes to Gujarat

Narendra Modi is the showman. Finally after weeks of speculations and months of tussle Tata has chosen Gujarat for its Nano project. Its a feat and celebration time for Gujarat. Narendra Modi has gone an extra mile to accommodate Mr Ratan Tata in his jurisdiction by allowing concessions and discounts which fall against his rules and principles. He has been personally avere to giving concessions to industry, on the ground that such concessions given in the past had led to huge loss of revenue to the exchequer. But however he has made a win - win deal this time by easing his rigid laws and offering Tatas a amiable hand.

The enthusiasm and accolade shown by Gujarat farmers in Sanand is in total contrast to that exhibited by their counterparts in West Bengal. Here, farmers has readily agreed to sell their lands to Tatas and participate in Industrial Development, rather than to woo for the lost agricultural opportunity. I believe such ostentatious welcome by Gujarat might have made West Bengal Farmers and their conman Minister Mamta Banerjee to realize their mistake. Well anyway, their blunder came as a boon to Gujarat. It will surely bring lots of development and growth for one of the most developed state of India.

The implications of this project are better employment opportunities for people of Gujarat, better business opportunities to local vendors and suppliers, including less transportation cost and competitive prices, geographic and political growth of the suburb of Ahemadabad - Anand, more revenue to state and exchequer, and if Tata permits a comparatively cheaper prices for their final product (Nano and others in future). It also gives a boost to morale of overall investors building their trust in brand Gujarat, which will indirectly lure more of investors to Gujarat.

Gujarat already scores high in the list of states with Industrial Development and this feat is like a feather in the hat. Gujarat's present government has got one more acclamation. There could be a huge gift in store for Narendra Modi as he has just completed seven years in office as Gujarat chief minister.

Confidence is the trick!!

Well, time to bell the CAT is nearby..!! Sweet September has ended, had enough sleep.. now its time to be awakened..!! This time, there would be no If(s).. but just WoW..!!

Confidence is all what matters.. it determines your attitude and supports your unconscious brain!! The funda is very simple and most of us even know it.. But yet we fail to exercise. We let our unconscious mind win over our conscious mind, and probably that is why we call it unconscious one. We fail to know what is there in it, or what is cooking up there against our concious pious motives!!

For me, few bandies that often helps win the notorious one are:
1. I can and I will
2. I am the King
3. If I wont do it then who will?

hhmnn.. sounds stupid, rather childish, but whatever it is, it does help.

Well the most common therapy for this self control, is exercising Yoga, controlling your breath, and etc-etc. The limitations of this therapy is that it needs regular practice. But for me, I feel such requirements arises at few moments or at few critical issues, as otherwise I feel I am emotionally quite strong. Hence for me such short hand techniques (bandies) are more apt.

So when you know you can, then you can.. and when you doubt "can you?", then you cant.. When you say if its in my fate, I ll get it, implies you doubt; but if you say, you rule and will write your own fate, you are confident!!

I am not an anthropologist, but on my own experience I am quite sure, gathering confidence is not easy. It requires a perfect combination of good number of positive experiences mixed with right attitude and emotional stability (especially from the part of our unconscious mind). And once attained such level of confidence, one will never be dubious to challenges. And its just a immense confidence that determines a winner.

Confidence deserves more than 90% of the winning credit, the others being friendly-open attitude towards challengers, rather than bamboozling, augmenting one's own efforts, etc.

Well then according to me these are the few major components needed to mark the win, and if I am able to develop them all, I would definitely come up with a WoW on 16th November, 2008!

Doomsday and I

Today I woke up after a day's rest cause of overeating of outside food, and was about to leave home to wind up the pending chores of MBA forms, etc, than my servant in a worried tone declared about the Dooms Wednesday. Not very sure about what exactly it is he informed entire city is panicking out of this some crazy meteorite fall or some fault with earth, that is scheduled at 12:00 PM today. Unaware of this I tried surfing news channel but "maano ya na maano" found same "vardaat", serials on them. Thanx to easy and handy information source, I quickly surfed through some sites. Though bit coverted it was there all over net under some other headings. "Will the world survive this Wednesday". At first I thought its very serious. and today is the doomsday that most had always talked about. But then after the first glance of the complete article itself when I realized that couple of thousands of brains are involved in this , I was relieved.

Yet for sure there was some doubt what if it is true! But then its not my personal doomsday, so in that case all my commitments, promises and desires would stand null and void with no one to blame me later. Well, than thought of giving tensions to few friends as I was sure very few know about it or else I would have got some calls since morning. So called up a frnd who is generally very apprehensive. But to my surprise, even she reacted quite coolly and the only tension she got was about her unaccomplished tasks of the day. This made me more relax as the person who takes the most tension didn't get any tension then why do I need to bother.

Well the time passed by and finally the "Vardaat" started screening the experiment. Well needless to mention each channel had few lines recorded which they kept playing again and again and the major part of those lines had big time marketing slogans in it. After few initial hours most of them assured that the risk has been subsided.

To conclude, I think the experiment is unique in its own way and has lots of hope of few thousands of scientists, the figure is yet ambiguous as different channels had different figures for the number of scientists involved. Wishing them all lucks and congrats for proving the dooms foreteller wrong. Again a different yet true school of thought, "You can guarantee that nothing should go wrong, but you cannot guarantee that nothing will go wrong". Let us all hope that this experiment is completed without any hindrances and is beneficial to the entire mankind.

Time to Pack Up

This is my last week at work. Will be going for a two and half months long leave after this. I wish to come back and rejoin my work. It has been a very nice experience here. Good people to work with, very supportive. Indeed the fact that I got leave for my MBA entrance exam is the evidence that the management here has broader perspective and are open to educational advancements.

There is an excitement to be at home. After a long time would be at home with a satisfaction that I am at home to achieve something and do have some objective in life. Last time after graduation I felt as if I have lost in life's race and am being at home, initially I even got feeling that probably life is at a turning point and hence forth my entrepreneurial skills will be honed, but however gradually that feeling sublimed and I got as comfortable as ever. But this time its hard work and dedication. I want to get lost in my efforts that I never get chance to think so much as I did last time. This time with a supplement with my good mock scores I would probably stay at home with a good feeling and proud. Moreover there's no heaven as good as love and care of my mother. I am looking forward for a great time at home too. But I don't think my work ex for 3 months would add any great impact on my resume so anyways I would have to work after this leave period.

Looking forward for positive things as always!!
